Protect your tile floors with regular care and maintenance
Naturally tough and waterproof, tile floors are extremely low-maintenance. Keeping them clean and healthy is easy when you give your floors regular care.
Because tile floors are typically light in color, dust and dirt will be especially noticeable. That's why it's important to place doormats at entryways and mop, vacuum, and sweep regularly. Certain high-traffic spots like hallways may require more frequent attention.
DEALING WITH STAINS
Tile flooring is naturally waterproof, so cleaning up liquid spills is pretty easy. Just wipe the spill up with a damp towel as soon as it happens to prevent discoloration.
Your tiles may be waterproof, but grout isn't. If you spill something on your grout, clean it up quickly to prevent stains. You should clean your grout regularly in high-traffic or spill-prone areas.
Some household cleaners can cause discoloration when used on tile floors, so make sure your cleaner is specifically for tile or approved by your manufacturer.
