Area Rug Care & Maintenance Tips
Daily area rug care is a simple process that involves vacuuming your rug to ensure that dirt, dust, and other debris do not build up within the fibers. Said debris can give your area rug a "dirty" and weathered look while actively shortening the lifespan of your rug. Vacuuming every day, and encouraging guests to remove their shoes before entering your home, will help to keep your area rug looking great for the long haul.
DEALING WITH STAINS
Some area rug messes can be vacuumed or brushed away, but for stains that have had the opportunity to set in, we recommend consulting your manufacturer's care guide for a list of approved cleaners. Stain treatment is dependent on a number of factors.
For tough stains, consult your manufacturer. There is a multitude of cleaning solutions available to you depending on the size and severity of the stain. For some, simple blotting with warm/cold water might do the trick, but for others, a more serious measure might need to be taken.
Place entry mats at the entrances of your homes to encourage guests to wipe their feet on them. Also, try to remove your shoes before walking on area rugs. Rug pads can help to secure your rugs and add a level of cushioning as well.
